And here are my last SEO effort on optimising this Busby SEO Challenge page. Nothing to do more, I can’t find any new source for backlink , to give more power for my SEO Challenge single post.

I think it’s true, need more effort to make our page stay on top.

Just like what I said in my previoust post, I very much appreciate your concern for support us in this challenge. I really appreciate your help without even us asking for. But, please don’t overhelp. In SEO newbie brain like me, to much ping will kill me. For an example, if you already ping my post, please do that just once, no more. And because of that, I change my Busby SEO Challenge title for a while with “Busby SEO Challenge – Stop ping this Post, Please”. But then, I think this make junthit ask me about remove his support link to my busby page.

I don’t mean to say, I don’t need your help. I just underline the word, don’t overhelp.

Now, my position is drop, drop down to 12 from 5. I need more help, Yes, I need it, but please leave your comment here or on my Yahoo Messenger, I will tell you what to do. O.K my friends, this a few example ( a little experiment from a newbie, because I use only one post to join Busby ) : because it’s not about Busby SEO Challenge Reward, but it’s about Busby SEO Challenge Strategy. Follow the rules, and hope all our effort will paid and our position will end at the best place.

I think in this last week, all contestant will do everything to push their position, and few of Busby contestant has got attention from google. Their position are raising up, congratulation to you all.

I use some of technique on that list to make my page in top ten in Busby SEO Challenge, SEO contest by Busby Website.

But, still it’s a hard thing to do. And the reward is not big just like the main contest. Its only an IPOD touch. To win an IPOD Touch from Busby Website at least I have to post creative or funny content in my Busby SEO Challenge Page. The winner will be announced shortly after the end of the SEO competition.

And to enter as a challenger in this challenges you just have to list your entrant page URL and username to this forum post. Well, I think I’m gonna take this option. And since not all participant join this new challenge, I think I have a chance to win this challenge.

As a general rule of thumb I tell my employees who are doing quality and relevant comment driven linking to comment on all relevant blogs which allow comments and a URL field. Then, I go back and analyze the percentage of blogs which use NoFollow to those which do not. Usually 65% to 70% of the blogs end up using NoFollow, but search engines follow links and identify sites via links using NoFollow anyway, so this is fine.

This practice results in more natural blog linking and in my opinion, if you only comment in 100% DOFollow blogs or 70% DOFollow blogs, your blog comment participation is not following natural trends, and could be viewed as anchor text and linking manipulation.

I think this make sense, at least for me in this situation . I joined SEO contest ( Busby SEO Challenge Contest ), and I try to find dofollow blog with related content. It’s a hard job to do in a short time.

Then, I try to build links via blog commenting, via a nofollow blog, as long as that blog have relevant content with my blog. Is this SEO trick still useful ? Yes, blog commenting is still useful. But, don’t try to make spammy comment, try to adding value to the discussion. And, to see how comment spam can be identified algorithmically read here

First thing that I always trying to do when designing a website is the page structure. How I create the page, the structure, etc. But the problem is, I don’t really know, is that what I’m doing right or wrong .

Finally I found Bill from SEO by the SEA article about how search engines are evaluating the links and content importance based on on-page factors.

Some of the factors that Yahoo confirms in the paper:
* formatting of the text – bold , h1 etc. – GOOD
* content / links that are at the absolute header/footer of the page – BAD

He change the design for his blog to get optimized in search engine, to let search engine index the content first than the menu and archives and another else. I’ve done that before. But I think this blog needs a little something more.

Then I try Raven Free SEO Analysis tools to check my contest page. This tools check your Semantic Structure, Page Content, Obsolete & Deprecated HTML, Inline Styles, Download Size/Time, Total Page Size, and Outgoing Links. In the bottom you will get Overall Score for Design.

And the result is here.

But, this score doesn’t means if this blog or other blog with the highest score will win Busby SEO Challenge Contest. Who have the biggest number of back link she/he will win the challenge.
